Verify that jumpers are installed on J14 in the TWSI SDA and TWSI SCK positions to use the RS-232 Port 

b)

 

Verify that SW6 is set up as described below.  This will configure the part to use the Two-wire Serial Interface as 

described in the device datasheet.

c) Apply 3.3V to power up the board. Start the program by clicking on “

Start

” and then navigating from the 

programs menu to select “

VSCControlSoftware

.” The first time the program is run, it will display a list of several 

Vitesse devices.  Select the VSC8228.  To switch from another Vitesse device to the VSC8228, select “

File” 

and 

then

 “Open

” on the main menu to open the “

VSC8228.RegFile”

 from the default directory.
