UMMARY

The VSCControlSoftware communicates between a PC and the VSC8228 using an RS-232 serial port (UART). The
software first communicates with a microcontroller running preloaded firmware. This firmware converts the RS-232
commands into SPI or Two-wire serial interface (TWSI).

NSTALLATION

The VSCControlSoftware requires a Windows PC running Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000 operating systems with a
serial port. You must also have local administrator access to install the software.

The software can be installed using either of the following methods:

1. Please insert the CD provided in the Evaluation Board kit. After a few seconds an Internet Explorer

window will open as shown below. Please click on “

link

” and then select the “open” or “run” option to run

SETUP.EXE and install the VSC8228 PC Software.

Please wait a few minutes for the software to

install.
