WHAT THIS TEST MEANS
If you can Ping a local device:
The local device has an IP Address (this does not guarantee that the Device has WAN Access)
If you can Ping the WAN Gateway:
The modem’s DHCP Client has properly obtained an IP Address
If you can Ping a WAN IP Address:
The modem can access the internet, but this does not necessarily mean that DNS resolution
is operational
If you can Ping a WAN Domain Name
The modem can access the internet correctly
