PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
The 1200 series entrance panel electronic unit can operate with 8 push-but-
tons (calling up to 8 users) with “PLEASE WAIT – ENGAGED” status LEDs
behind the loudspeaker or with 6 push-buttons (calling up to 6 users) with
“PLEASE WAIT – ENGAGED” status LEDs on the front of the circuit board.
In this case, the entrance panel is compatible with the 8000 series. Swi-
tching between the two operating modes is by means of a jumper located
on the circuit board under the push-button cover.
- If the jumper is located between pins 1 and 2 of the “SEL.” connector, the
entrance panel operates with six push-buttons and the “please wait-en-
gaged” status is indicated via LEDs on the front of the circuit board. The
entrance panel is compatible with 8000 series faceplates.
- If the jumper is between pins 2 and 3 of the “SEL.” connector, the en-
trance panel enables all push-buttons and can call 8 internal users. The
“please wait-engaged” status is indicated via the LEDs behind the loud-
speaker.
- To make the electronics compatible with the 1283 or 1285 series, SEL
must be set between 2 and 3 and parameter 06 “Software encoding” set
to 4. (See the paragraphs headed “ENTRANCE PANEL PARAMETERS”
and “HARDWARE-SOFTWARE ASSOCIATION”).
The number of internal users that can be called also depends on the pu-
sh-button layout. If the entrance panel has only one row of push-buttons, the
“Buttons in 2 rows” parameter must be set to 0. In this case it is possible to
call 3 users (SEL. = 1-2 or para.06 = 4) or 4 users (SEL. = 2-3). However if
the panel has two rows of push-buttons, the “Buttons in 2 rows” parameter
must be set to 1. In this case it is possible to call 6 users (SEL. = 1-2 or
para.06 = 4) or 8 users (SEL. = 2-3).
