4. Servicing
4.1 Cleaning
Cleaning of the shearing head and blades
After the shearing, remove the oil from the device by using dry cloth and carefully clean the
shearing head and blades by a dry brush. Then put oil on the elements to prevent the
corrosion. Even the smallest rust points on the blades may adversely affect the operation
of shearing or make it completely impossible.
4.2 Assembling the shearing blade
Before any service work, make sure you disconnect the power supply by
unplugging the device. Even when the device is in OFF position, you
should not handle the shearing blade while connected to the power
supply. Always disconnect the device from the power supply when
handling the shearing blades / shearing head.
A pair of shearing blade consists of comb plate (Figure 5, Item 2) and a
clipping blade (Figure 5, Item 1). Make sure the appropriate surfaces are
appropriately positioned (rested against) when installing the blades. The
blades are assembled in the following way:
Loosen the locknut (Figure 6) and place the device on a hard surface
with blade position screws pointed upwards. Loosen the screws and
remove both used blades.
Make sure the new shearing blades are clean (free of dirt). Especially
make sure that the sharpened surfaces are clean. If they are not clean,
even the sharpened blades will not shear appropriately.
Place the new clipping blade on conical Z of the pressure clamps (Figure
8+3, Item 2) and push the new comb plate between the loosen screws
(Figure 9). Now tighten the blade position screws until new comb plate is
able to move only manually to the side.
Now turn the device so that the locknut is up again.
