General
●
Place the machine on level and firm
ground when performing all the
operations described.
7.2 Installing mono handlebar
(ME 339 C)
●

Insert sleeve (E) in the bore
on handlebar (1).
●

Fit two washers (G) with the convex
side facing inwards onto the sleeve.
●

Hold sleeve (E) and washers (G)
and insert together with handlebar (1)
into console (2).
●

Insert nut (H) into the console as
shown.
●

Insert bolt (F) from outside inwards
through the bores in handlebar (1) and
in console (2). Tighten bolt (F).
Tightening torque:
1
8 - 22 Nm
Installing electric cable:
●
Insert the electric cable in strain relief
moulding (3) as shown, press into the
holders on the console and on
handlebar (4, 5) and fasten to the
handlebar using cable clip (6).
7.3 Installing dual handlebar
(ME 339)
Installing upper handlebar:
●
Insert flat head bolt (I) through cable
guide (J) and attach electric cable (1).
●
Fit dual handlebar (2) onto both lower
handlebar sections (3). Insert flat head
bolts (I) – on right with cable guide (J),
on left without – through bores from
inside outwards and tighten with rotary
handles (K).
Installing cable clip:
●
Install cable clip (L) on the upper
handlebar. Insert electric cable (1) as
shown. Close tab (4) and allow it to
engage.
Distance between the cable clip and
switch:
25 - 27 cm
7.4 Assembling the grass
catcher box
●
Fit the upper part of the grass
catcher box (B) onto the lower part of
the grass catcher box (C). Ensure
correct location in the guides.
●
Push pin (D) through the bores
provided from inside.
●
Allow the upper part of the grass
catcher box (B) to engage in the lower
part of the grass catcher box using
slight pressure.
●

Adjusting mono handlebar

Folding down handlebar:
Transport position
(for cleaning, for
space-saving transport and for storage of
the machine):
●
Hold upper handlebar (2) with one hand
at its highest point and lift (relieve load)
slightly.
●
Press detent lever (1) downwards and
hold.

7. Preparing the machine for
operation
Risk of injury!
Observe the safety instructions in
the section "For your safety" (

Danger of electric shock!
In order to prevent damage to the
insulating layer on the handlebar,
only press on the cable clips by
hand. Do not use any tools (e.g.
hammer or screwdriver).

8. Controls
Danger of pinching!
When actuating the detent lever,
always hold the upper handlebar
with one hand at its highest point.
Never place your fingers between
the handlebar and console (over
and under the detent lever).
