6.5.1 Liebert XDC DX R-407c Circuit Volume

Liebert XDCs’ refrigerant R-407c circuits with refrigerant charges over 55 lb (24.9 kg) require additional
oil. See Figure 6.11 below for the amount required for various charge levels.
Once the system has been fully charged with refrigerant, use a hand pump to add the additional oil at the
suction side of the system while the system is running.
The amount of oil added by field service must be recorded on a tag attached at the tandem the amount
added along with the date it was added. This will be documented on a tag located at the tandem
compressor and marked “Oil Added Field Service Record.” Refer to the Liebert XDC user manual, SL-
16674, available at www.VertivCo.com.

To calculate the oil required, use the following formula:
Additional Oil Required per Circuit = (Refrigerant Charge * 0.4 - 22)
Enter the refrigerant charge in pounds to determine the oil required in ounces
