1.3. Terms used
1.3.1. Service bypass
A switch that provides continuous supply to the load via the bypass input power line during maintenance
work; also referred to as the maintenance bypass.
1.3.2. Static bypass switch
A thyristor switch which connects the load directly to the power line; also referred to as a static switch
or static bypass.
1.3.3. Qualified personnel
Personnel who are familiar with the installation, assembly, commissioning and operation of the product,
and are qualified to carry out these procedures.
1.3.4. Display
Control panel that includes: graphic symbols and data which show the status of the machine; push
buttons to operate the UPS.
1.3.5. I/O BOX
The I/O BOX is an enclosure that is part of the UPS and allows client power connections. For 1200-2400A
models it is equipped with control switches and the static switch. It also allows for signal exchange and
communication between different UPS. For 3000-4000-5000A models the I/O BOX only contains the
client power connections.
1.3.6. STS BOX
The STS BOX is an enclosure containing the static switch and control switch: only for 3000-4000-
5000A models.
1.3.7. BOX
The BOX is the enclosure that contains the control switches.

options.
