Power ON/OFF button
This push-button activates and deactivates the device. The
DVM892
is also
equipped with an energy-saving feature: the meter is automatically deactivated
when the RANGE and FUNCTION selector has not been used for 15 minutes. The
user will have to press the ON/OFF button twice to switch the device on again
when the energy-saving feature has deactivated the
DVM892
.
RANGE and FUNCTION switch
This rotary switch is used to select the desired range or function. Always remove
the test probes from the device under test before selecting a different
range/function!
7.
Maintenance / battery and fuse replacement
WARNING:
To avoid electrical shock
always
disconnect the test leads
prior to opening the housing. To prevent fire hazards, install fuses with the
same specifications as shown.
Remark:
refer to the warning on the back of the meter
Do not
replace internal parts yourself. Replace damaged or lost
accessories by identical ones with the same specifications. Order spare
accessories e.g. test probes at your dealer.
Switch off the meter and remove test leads prior to replacing the battery or
fuses.
a. General maintenance:
•
Wipe the device regularly with a moist, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol,
solvents or abrasive products.
b.
Battery/fuse replacement
•
Replace the battery as soon as the “
” indication appears on the display.
Low/bad batteries can produce false readings. The fuse rarely needs to be
replaced and a blown fuse is almost always caused by a human error.
•
Switch off the multi-meter.
•
Remove test probes from the circuit under test. Remove all test leads from the
input jacks.
•
Remove the protective cover and release the three screws at the back of the
meter and gently open the housing.
•
Replace the battery (9V 6LF22).
Do not
use rechargeable batteries and insert
following the right polarity.
•
To replace the fuse, carefully release the 4 screws that hold the PCB; these
screws are located at the top, around the LCD.
•
Gently lift the PCB.
