For Shadow - Mounting the glass front (point 7-11):
7. Place the glass front (glass down) on the floor well protected with a soft surface, i e the packaging
material.
8. Place the stove frame over the front. Position the screw holes of the stove frame over the threads of the
glass front hinges as shown in Figure 4.
9. Make sure that the glass front sits straight over the stove frame.
10. Secure the glass door by following the principle in Figure 5. First, place the washer over the thread, then
tighten the nut with a wrench.
11. Make sure the glass front is secured and that the door can be opened and closed freely (Figure 6).
Mounting on a wall (point 12-21):
Note! Vauni recommends that wall mounting be done by a qualified professional.
12. Find a suitable brick wall, concrete wall, massive wooden wall or a stud wall with a strong construction
panel. Make sure the fireplace will be at least 1 metre from flammable objects and not be exposed to
draughts (Figure 18). If the wall is built on joists and simpler finishing plate, e.g. plaster boards, the wall
fixture must be attached to existing reinforcements (e.g. wall beams) and/or arranged reinforcements.
The fireplace weighs 30 kg and the attechment of its weakest point is to bear this weight. Contact a
qualified professional if in the least doubt.
13. Lift the fireplace with the help of two people and place it against the intended wall for installation. Adjust
it to an adequate height for mounting, and then mark at the fireplace’s bottom edge with a pencil or the
like. Vauni recommends in general 80-90 cm from the floor to the Edge/Shadow’s bottom edge (Figure
7).
14. Place the base of the wall mount at the marked line and control that it sits horizontal using a spirit level.
Next, mark out the hole picture for the fastening screws with a pen, using the wall fixture as a template.
Vauni recommends 6-8 screw points. Then drill holes of a suitable size at the markings (Figure 8).
15. Insert the screw plugs in the drilled holes, then screw on the wall fixture with the screws. Check very
carefully that the wall fixture sits steady and gap-free against the wall (Figure 9). Contact a qualified
professional at the least suspicion of insufficient bearing capacity.
16. Lift the fireplace with the help of two people and hook it to the wall fixture. When the hooks are
correctly placed, both the upper and lower hooks should lock into the fireplace (Figure 10-11). Check on
both sides that both upper and lower hooks are correctly placed (Figure 11). Important! If the hooks are
not in the correct position, there is a higher risk that the fireplace will fall due to external force, so check
this very carefully.
17. Tighten the two cap screws on the underside of the fireplace (Figure 12). Make sure the stove is level and
stable.
18. For Shadow: Make sure that the door can be opened and closed freely (Figure 13).
