Maintenance
Replacement of gate seal
The figures in brackets refer to the drawing on page 10
1. Vent chambers on either side of valve
2. Open valve
3. Switch off compressed air
4. Switch off electrical power
5. Disconnect compressed air line
6. Remove position indicators (6) (they may be connected to the connecting cable)
7. Remove valve from installation
8. Put valve on a clean place
9. Remove compressed air connection (7)
10. Unclamp snap ring (9) on body side and simultaneously withdraw cylinder tube (8) with attached solenoid and cylinder
cover (10) carefully from bushing (11) and piston (12)
Attention:
If the piston is pulled to the open position during withdrawal of the cylinder tube, it has to be pushed back
so that the valve gate (2) is in the closed, but not locked position!
11. Loosen countersunk screw (13) in thread ring (4)
12. Unscrew thread ring (4) from body (1)
Attention:
Before removing the thread ring mark its position exactly!
13. Remove screw (14)
14. Hold counter-plate (3) at the bore hole by means of a screwdriver
15. Turn piston (12) clockwise by approx. 45° and pull it slowly backwards
16. Drop out balls (15) from bore hole in counter-plate (3)
Attention:
Pull out piston to max. stroke "B"!

17. Withdraw mechanism (counter-plate with attached gate) from body
18. Remove O-ring (5) carefully from gate groove
Attention:
Be careful not to damage O-ring groove!
19. Check seat surface in body. Remove scratches by polishing concentricly with abrasive cloth grain 220, and clean seat
surface with alcohol using a lint-free cloth.
20. Clean O-ring groove with alcohol using a lint-free cloth
21. Press new O-ring with the thumb crosswise into groove
Attention:
Be careful not to twist O-ring!
22. Put mechanism (counter-plate with attached gate) into body and hold it
23. Push shaft (18) carefully forward between valve gate and counter-plate
24. Press balls (15) through bore hole in counter-plate into bore holes of shaft (one ball pair after the other) while pushing
shaft progressively forward
25. After all balls have been inserted, continue pushing the shaft until the balls enter the detents of the valve gate and
counter-plate
26. Mount screw (14)
27. Screw thread ring (4) into body (1), exactly to the marked position
28. Tighten countersunk screw (13) in thread ring (4)
29. Align valve gate (2) parallel to sealing surface in body
30. Slide cylinder tube (8) carefully over piston (12) and bushing (11)
Attention:
Avoid twisting!
