Administration Web Interface
The
Administration Web Interface
supports the daily administration of the aXsGUARD Identifier and is intended for
use by help desks and system administrators. This interface allows management of:
User accounts: each DIGIPASS holder is registered in the aXsGUARD Identifier database, with a DIGIPASS user
account. Managing user accounts is explained in section
DIGIPASS deployment: each DIGIPASS device is registered in the aXsGUARD Identifier database. Managing
DIGIPASS devices and records is explained in section
Client Components: authentication and administration clients are also registered in the aXsGUARD Identifier.

System: Server components are also registered in the aXsGUARD Identifier. Managing server components is
explained in section
Policies: Policies specify various settings that affect request handling processes. Each request is handled
according to a Policy that is identified by the applicable component record. Policies are explained in section

ack-end authentication
is the process of checking User credentials with another system.
With the aXsGUARD Identifier this could mean an LDAP Active Directory/e-Directory or RADIUS server. It is
used for various purposes, including
Enabling automatic management features such as
Dynamic User Registration
and
Self-
Assignment
Static password verification for Users who do not have a DIGIPASS device and for Virtual DIGIPASS
Retrieval of RADIUS attributes from a RADIUS server
Password Replacement
- allowing the User to log in with just a One Time Password, in an
environment where the Windows password is required (e.g. Outlook Web Access).
Back-end server records are also registered on the aXsGUARD Identifier. For in depth details on back-end

Domains and Organizational Units: User accounts and DIGIPASS records can be grouped in the aXsGUARD
Identifier using two structures: domains and Organizational Units. Managing domains and Organizational Units
is explained in section
Reports: the aXsGUARD Identifier reporting functionality allows you to create reports from the database
information and from the audit information. Reporting is explained in section
The Administration Web Interface uses the aXsGUARD Identifier SOAP administration interface to manage data.
