Safety Relay Replacement (VL500A Only)
Parts:
23.9650.3327 1 EA RELAY, ELECTRICAL ASSY (VL500A ONLY)
Tools:
• #2 Phillips Screwdriver
WARNING:
Remove power from luminaire before performing maintenance.
To remove and replace safety relay assembly:
Step 1. Disconnect luminaire AC input cable from power source.
Step 2. Remove yoke cover opposite of display by removing four 6-32x3/8" LG PTB
screws.
Step 3. At Relay, disconnect following wiring:
a. Bundled AC from Ballast
b. White AC to Ignitor
c. Red +24V DC from MCB
d. Green -24V DC from Backcap Interlock (Kill) Switch
Step 4. At Relay, loosen, but do not remove, two 4-40x5/16" PPZ SEMS screws.
Step 5. Carefully slide Relay out of yoke arm.
Note:
When replacing Relay, do not overtighten screws securing Relay (as described in Step
4). Doing so may crack plastic tabs on Relay.
Step 6. Replace Relay by performing Steps 2 through 5 in reverse.
