4.6 Installing the valve position sensor
The valves of the Airmix™ must be controlled by a climate computer, see chapter 6.1. One valve
position sensor must be installed per section on an Airmix™ to report the actual position of the valves
to the climate computer. In practice, a greenhouse might be divided into multiple sections, where
each section has its own climate control. That is why one Airmix™ in each section has to be equipped
with a valve position sensor. The valve position sensor must be mounted before the Airmix™ is
suspended. Mount the valve position detector as follows:
use proper tools and equipment;
make sure that the valve position sensor can be installed safely - get help if necessary;
the valves can be manually opened or closed if the drive is unblocked (see unblock button in
figure 16).
what you will need:
o
1 clamp incl. M4x16 hexagon bolt, M4 washer and M4 hexagonal lock nut;
o
1 drill template;
assembly (see Figures 8, 9, 10 and 11);
o
using the drill template, drill two 5.5-mm holes in the Airmix™ housing (8);
o
mount the valve position sensor (1) by securing two M5 lock nuts and washers from
the inside of the Airmix™;
o
Attach the arm of the valve position sensor (2) to the rack (3) using a clamp (4) with
an M4x16 hexagonal bolt (5) and M4 lock nut (Figure 9);
o
loosen bolt number 6 so that the arm (2) can be slid out of the holder (8). This holder
will turn to the rest position;
o
loosen bolt number 7, insert the arm (2) back into the holder (8), then retighten bolt
number 6 and bolt number 7. When the valves are open, the valve position sensor is
in the rest position (Figure 8);
o
shorten the arm of the valve position sensor (2) to the correct length (point Z in
figure 11) when the valves are closed.
