5.1 SERVICE
5.1.1 - FLUIDS AND LUBRICANTS
Grease:
Use an SAE multi purpose high temperature grease with extreme
pressure (EP) performance or SAE multi purpose lithium base
grease
Gearbox Oil:
Use an SAE 80/90 or SAE 70/80 gear oil for all operating conditions
Storing Lubricants:
Your machine can operate at top efficiency only if clean lubricants
are used Use clean containers to handle all lubricants Store them
in an area protected from dust, moisture and other contaminants
5.1.2 - GREASING
Refer to Section 511 for recommended grease Use a Maintenance
Checklist to keep a record of all scheduled maintenance
1 Use only a hand-held grease gun for all greasing Air powered
greasing systems can damage the seals on bearings and lead
to early bearing failure
2 Wipe grease fitting with a clean cloth before greasing to avoid
injecting dirt and grit
3 Replace broken fittings immediately
4 If fittings will not take grease, remove and clean thoroughly
Replace if necessary
5 Pump the grease slowly until a slight film of grease appears
around the bearing seal
5.1.3 - LUBRICATING
1 Use the maintenance record provided in section 53 to keep a
record of all scheduled maintenance
2 Check tension on V-belts and adjust as needed
3 Grease both universal joints on PTO drive shaft every 8 to 10
hours
4 Grease flange bearings (3) on the opening door system mon-

5 Planetary right angle gearbox : A grease line, grease fitting
located underneath the tub, is intended to grease the planetary
tower top bearing It must be greased once a year with ten
pumps of grease This should be done in conjunction with
oil changes
