FABRICATOR 251 SERVICE MANUAL
7.02 Initial Setup Conditions
Set the powe r supply cont r ols and connect cables as
follows:
1. ON/OFF Switch to OFF Position
2. MIG GUN / SPOOL GUN SELECTOR SWITCH to MIG
GUN position
3. WIREFEED SPEED CONTROL to "4"
4. COARSE VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH to position "1"
5. FINE VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH to position "1"
6. WELD (SPOT/STITCH) TIMER CONTROL to minimum
7. WELD MODE SWITCH to position "2T"
8. DWELL STITCH TIMER CONTROL to minimum
9. BURNBACK CONTROL to minimum
10. Disconnect & Isolate the GUN POLARITY LEAD f r om
OUTPUT WELDING TERMINALS
11. Connect Wo r k cable to (-) NEGATIVE OUTPUT
WELDING TERMINAL
12. Disengage PRESSURE ADJUST DEVICE so wi r e will
not feed (See figu r e 3-10)
7.03 Primary Power Test
A. Close p r ima r y disconnect device and obse r ve the
following:
1. G r een Indicto r Lamp inside ON/OFF Switch
illuminates
B. Set ON/OFF Switch to ON position and obse r ve the
following:
1. Fan tu r ns on
2. Digital Display tu r ns on.
The mete r has two display modes: Voltage o r
Ampe r age. If last displayed cha r acte r on the left
is "A", dep r ess the VOLTAGE / AMPERAGE
SELECTION Switch once. The left cha r acte r will
change to "V".
This completes the P r ima r y Powe r Test. If the above a r e
all co rr ect then p r oceed to pa r ag r aph 'B'. If the above
does not function as noted then note the symptom and
p
r oceed to Section 7.08 P r ima r y Powe r P r oblems.
