DEVICE DRIVER INSTALLATION PROBLEM, MISSING ROOT CERTIFICATE (WINDOWS XP)
NOTE: This applies to Windows XP only.
If the driver did not install correctly even after trying to reinstall it manually as described above, the most likely reason
is that the root certificates are not up to date. Windows uses root certificates to check the digital signature of the
driver and if they do not match the driver installation fails.
Windows XP does not always update the root certificates automatically. In this case the user has to update them
manually.
Update the root certificates as described here:
1.
Go to Microsoft website
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5b30c0c6-9b2b-47ec-
982a-92f4d5dce2ef
[Update for Root Certificates [April 2012] (KB931125)] Follow the instructions of the
website and install the update for root certificates.
2.
After installation restart your computer.
3.
Reinstall the device driver as instructed in
INSTALLING DEVICE DRIVER MANUALLY (WINDOWS XP)
