Safety instructions
a
Danger! Danger of life and limb by electric
shock!
The supply terminals of the boiler are under
mains voltage even if the boiler main switch is
off. Don’t touch the supply terminals. Protect
the electronic box from any water or spray. Be-
fore working on the boiler, turn off the power
and secure against restart.
h
Note
If it is necessary to keep the electricity to the
boiler switched on for certain inspection and
maintenance, this is indicated in the descrip-
tion of the maintenance task.
Always perform the following steps prior to inspection
or maintenance work:
• Switch off the main switch.
• Disconnect the boiler from the power mains by
- disconnecting the mains plug or
- de-energising the boiler via an isolating device with
a contact opening of at least 3 mm (e. g. fuses or
power switches).
• Further check for electrical isolation of the appliance
by use of a test meter.
• Close the gas isolator cock.
• Close the service valves in the heating flow and re-
turn.
• Remove the casing from the boiler.
• When removing any water carrying components en-
sure that water is kept away from all electrical compo-
nents.
Always perform the following steps after performing
any inspection or maintenance work:
• Always use new seals and O-rings when parts are re-
placed.
• Open the service valves in the heating flow and re-
turn.
• Reconnect the boiler to the power mains.
• Switch the main switch on.
• Fill the heating circuit of the boiler to a pressure of
between 1.0 and 2.0 bar if required.
• Bleed the heating installation (see section 6.4.1, Filling
the boiler and using the testing program P.0).
• Open the gas isolator cock.
• Check the boiler for gas and water leaks.
• If necessary, refill and re-bleed the heating installa-
tion.
• Replace the front casing to the boiler.
• Carry out a functional check of the boiler ( see section
6.3, Function menu )
• Always check earth continuity, polarity and resistance
to earth with a multimeter after any service work and
after replacing any electrical component.
8.3 Checking
the
CO/CO
2
ratio
h
Note
Checking/adjustment of the CO/CO
2
Ratio is re-
quired in the following instances:
- replacement of gas valve,
- or if an incorrect combustion is suspected,
- during annual maintenance.
h
Note
Make sure that there is an opening for the CO/
CO
2
measurement in the flue pipe.
Connect a suitable flue gas analyser to this
opening to establish the combustion perform-
ance of the boiler.
h
Note
The maximum draught should not exceed
20 Pa, as otherwise the results of the CO/CO
2
measurement in minimum load will be invalid. If
necessary you can remove the cover of the in-
spection opening in the external exhaust gas
ducting during the measurement. Then replace
it after the measurement.
• Remove the front casing.
• Start the testing program P.1 for full mode (see sec-
tion 9.4 ).
• Wait at least 5 minutes until the boiler reaches its op-
erating temperature.
• Measure the CO/CO
2
Ratio at the flue pipe. Compare
the measured value with the corresponding value in
Table 8.1.
• Start the testing program P.2 for minimum load (see
section 9.4).
• Wait at least 5 minutes until the boiler reaches its op-
erating temperature.
• Measure the CO/CO
2
Ratio at the flue pipe. Compare
the measured value with the corresponding value in
Table 8.1.
• If all these points are as required, leave the test mode
as described in section 9.4.
• If one of the flue gas values is greater than the ac-
ceptable values in table 8.1 then proceed as described
in the following section 8.4.
8.4 Adjusting the CO/CO
2
Ratio
a
Danger!
Increased risk of poisoning due to incorrect
settings! Incorrect setting may increase the
risk of poisoning.
If one of the flue gas values is greater than the
acceptable values in table 8.1 then check
- the integrity of the complete flue gas instal-
lation,
- the integrity of the combustion circuit seals,
- the gas inlet working pressure,
- the gas flow rate.
