Install the 1” x 1/2” reducing bushing in the “IN” port of the filter head.  

BE SURE 

to 

use Teflon tape on the threads.  Make sure the fitting tightens in the head.  If the fitting 
bottoms out, remove it and put more tape on the bushing.  It should snug up before it

Install the 1” x 1/2” reducing bushing in the “OUT” port of the filter head.

Install the 1/2” MPT x 3/8” QC fitting into the previously installed bushings on the inlet 
and outlet.
