1.1 SAFETY

AND

SECURITY

1.1.1. Declaration

of

EC

conformity

Urmet TLC S.p.A., with registered offices in Via Bologna, 188/C – 10154 TURIN, declares that the
residential telephone “4097/1” complies with the following standards:

•

EN 55022/1, EN55024  – Electro-magnetic compatibility.

•

EN 60950 – Electrical safety.

•

EN 301437 (iCTR37 ), CTR38, TBR10 – Other aspects

It complies with the requirements of Directive 1999/5/CE of the European Parliament and Council dated
March 9 1999 and relating to radio appliances and terminal communication equipment, and reciprocal
acknowledgment of their conformity.

Conformity with such requirements is confirmed by CE marking.

1.1.2. Intended

use

This appliance has been designed and constructed for use in connection with the national PSTN analogue
telephone network or as extension of a switchboard.

The terminal can be used in protected environments with a temperature range of b 5° to + 40 °.

1.1.2.1.

Connection in parallel

This terminal must be connected using the plug/plug telephone cable inserted directly in a modular jack
(wall socket). It will always be connected in parallel to the line.

1.1.3.  Recommendations for siting of the terminal

•

Locate the terminal close to the telephone outlet at a distance of not more than 1.6 meters; otherwise
extensions are required.

•

Do not position the terminal in bathrooms or very damp places.

•

Usually the feet do not leave signs on supporting surfaces. However, considering the vast range of
materials available in field, it is advisable to check contact points and to clean surfaces regularly.

•

Place the terminal on a flat, possibly non-slip surface.

•

Do not install the telephone in dusty environments as accumulation of dust could damage the
mobile mechanical parts of the appliance.

•

Do not leave the telephone in direct sunlight and do not place it close to sources of intense heat.

1.1.4. Cleaning

Clean the terminal with a dry cloth. Do not use cleaning fluids that could damage the product.
