3. HOW TO USE THE TELEPHONE
3.1
HOW TO ANSWER A CALL
When a call is received, the ringer is activated and the led on the keypad lights up.
To reply, lift the hand-set . At the end of the conversation. replace the hand-set.
3.2
HOW TO MAKE A CALL
A call can be made in various ways:
•
with engagement of the line (sec. 3.2.1)
•
of a number already selected (sec. 3.2.2)
•
of a number present in the Phonebook which permits direct dialling (sec. 3.2.3)
•
of a number present in the Phonebook which permits indirect dialling (sec. 3.2.4)
3.2.1. Call engaging the line
1. With the telephone connected to the telephone line, lift the hand-set and, on hearing the line signal, dial
the number to be called.
2. At the end of conversation, replace the hand-set.
NOTE
: If the 4097/1 telephone is connected to a PABX which does not recognize the fast RD function, a
pause must be added between the line engagement code (for example 0) and the number to be dialled.
3.2.2. How to redial a number (RD/ P key)
The 4097/1 terminal saves the last number dialled. To redial this number:
1. With the telephone connected to the telephone line, lift the hand-set.
2. Press
the
RD /P
key.
3. The number saved will be redialed automatically.
NOTE
: The following keys can be saved; from 0 to 9, *, #, pause (RD/P key) and FLASH.
3.2.3. How to call a number in the direct dialling Phonebook
The 4097/1 terminal can save 3 numbers and associate these to the three M1 , M2, M3 keys that permit
directing dialling of these numbers. To save the numbers refer to section 3.3.
1. With the telephone connected to the telephone line, lift the hand-set and, on hearing the line signal,
press one of the three direct dialling keys (M1, M2 or M3 ).
2. The number saved will be dialled automatically
3. At the end of conversation, replace the hand-set.
