4.5 Diode Test
Attention !
Prior to any measurement ensure that the UUT is not
live. If required carry out voltage measurement for verification. Compare
para. 4.2 for voltage measurement.
1. Set range selection switch (2) to “ “. The blue button (8) for
model 9005 enables selection between diode test and continuity test.
2. Connect test leads to UUT The measurement voltage polarity at „V
V
mA“ input is positive.
3. The diode voltage drop is indicated in “forward direction“. A good
diode indicates “ OL“ or “1“ for the reverse direction.
4.6 Continuity Test
Attention !
Prior to any measurement ensure that the UUT is not
live. If required carry out voltage measurement for verification. Compare
para. 5.2 for voltage measurement.
1. Set range selection switch (2) to “)))“. The blue button (8) for model
9005 enables selection between diode test and continuity test. The
respective symbol is indicated on the display.
2. Connect test leads to UUT. The measurement voltage polarity at “V
V
mA“ input is positive.
3. A signal is able for resistance values below approx. 300
V
.
5.0 Maintenance
When using instrument in compliance with the instruction manual no
special maintenance is required. Any adjustments and repairs may
only be carried out by authorized staff.
If the instrument is dirty after usage, it is advised to clean it by using a
humid cloth and mild household detergents. Never use acid detergents
or dissolvants.
Calibration Interval:
To ensure accuracy and reliability of measurement results, measurement
instruments have to be periodically calibrated. We recommend a
calibration interval of 1 year for the Multimeters 9004 and 9005.
5.1 Battery Replacement
If the symbol “ “ appears in the display, replace the battery as
follows:
1. Remove instrument from all circuits.
2. Remove test leads and switch off instrument.
3. Remove the protective rubber holster and open battery case on the
rear of the instrument.
4. Replace the discharged battery / batteries by using one/two new
battery / batteries.
