3 Usage
3.3.1
Hoisting to the toilet
•
Before placing the user on the toilet, lower the
user's trousers to the hollow of the knee, and do
not lower the trousers any further until the user
has been placed on the toilet.
•
When toileting, detach the toileting sling from the
spreader bar fixing points.
•
After the toilet visit, hoist the user's trousers back
up over the knee cavity, hoist the user up and
then fully reattach the trousers.
3.4
Manoeuvring
Do not hoist the user higher than is
necessary to move the hoist.
If you want to drive, put the hoist in a half high position.
The spreader bar is also in a half sitting and half lying
position.
3.4.1
Manoeuvring the hoist
•
Moving the hoist is easiest when the castors are in
the right direction (in line with the direction of
travel).
•
Walk along with the hoist when moving.
•
Push the hoist to its destination and only hoist it to
the required height to bring the user into the final
position.
•
When moving the hoist, the legs can be in the wide
or narrow position. Preferably use the narrow
position to move.
3.4.2
Turning the hoist
• Avoid turning from the back when turning the
hoist. Stand on the side of the hoist while turning
and use the arm, spreader bar and legs to pull or
push.
• Hold the spreader bar or hoist arm with one hand
and the mast with the other.
• Start the rotation by pushing one foot against the
undercarriage.
• Continue the rotation with the arm resting on the
spreader bar and on the hoist arm to push the
hoist further.
3.5
Removing the user from the OpeMax Lite
Hoisting to a bed / chair
Move the user to the final intended position (lying or
sitting). Position the user as well as possible. Lower the
user.
•
Make sure that the user is properly positioned in
the back of a chair.
•
Do not put the hoist on the brake in order to be
able to position the user properly.
•
Release all clips from the sling.
•
Drive the hoist away.
•
Remove the sling (unless a personal sling has
been used).
•
If necessary, place the hoist on the charger after
use.
