Processor Type (Credit Mode 2 Only)
This command lets you configure the credit processor type. The credit processor type can be
set to “host mode,” “internet mode,” or “terminal mode”. The default setting is “host mode”.
In Internet Mode, you can authorize credit transactions over the Ethernet, which allows for
much quicker authorizations. These transactions are authorized in Credit Mode 2 through the
DataTran with special software, and the DataTran routes the request to a new device, the
IPTran, connected to the credit host.
When possible, the DataTran modem rejects duplicate transactions to help prevent credit
card fraud. In host mode, the Wash Select II allows the DataTran software to determine
whether or not to submit duplicate transactions to the processor network. With some credit
networks, this can result in false “duplicate transaction” rejections.
If you are receiving a large number of false “duplicate transaction” rejections, you can switch
your processor type to terminal mode. In terminal mode, the Wash Select II forces the
DataTran modem to attempt to validate the transaction regardless of whether it is considered
a duplicate transaction.
Follow the steps below to configure the processor type .
