6.4.2 TOOLS – Firmware Update

The last option in the “Tools” menu is the “Firmware Update” selection.

This allows the QSD Instrument to have its internal firmware updated when new firmware releases

are made available. Please note that the Unidata 6603W FTDI programming cable is required in this

process.

Once the firmware update selection is made, a file window will open and the firmware selection file

can take place. New firmware files may be sent to Starflow QSD users by the Unidata Support Team

or alternatively, made available through the Unidata web site at

https://www.unidata.com.au/

Once the correct file has been selected the software will automatically send the new firmware file

down to the instrument. Correct operation should then be confirmed. All old settings are saved and

then restored after the instrument has been successfully upgraded.

The Sonic software will report the process as being successful.
