TROUBLESHOOTING
If the board is powered and the red LED remains off, proceed as
follows:
Ÿ
Make sure wiring is correct
Ÿ
Make sure there is voltage in the range 12 to 18Vdc in the power
terminal block, +/-
If the boards connected to the RS485 Bus Output terminal blocks are
not communicating with the PC used for programming or with
Vesta
, proceed as follows:
Ÿ
Make sure the red LED is on and, if so, follow the steps indicated above.
Ÿ
Check that the Green LED by the RS485 Bus Input Terminal Block
blinks, indicating that it is receiving data from the PC or
Vesta
and
whether the Green LED by the RS485 Bus Output (the one the problem
board is connected to) is blinking, indicating that the board is
transmitting data. Consequently, check that the correct Serial Number is
entered in
Lapis
(refer to the LAPIS manual).
Ÿ
Make sure wiring to the RS485 BUS terminals A/B is correct.
Ÿ
Make sure that there is no break in the RS485 BUS cable or that it is
connected with either
Vesta
or
Clavis
(See relevant manual).
Ÿ
Check the
Lapis
troubleshooting procedure.
If the problem persists after these checks, contact your dealer or
service centre.
BOARD ASSEMBLY
Ursula
is set to be installed on a 4-module control unit with DIN EN
50022 bar, or for fitting in standard 3- or more-gang back boxes or in
watertight surface boxes of the same size.
TERMINAL BLOCKS
Terminal blocks are all removable and silkscreened to facilitate wiring and
replacement.
Ÿ
RS485 bus input terminal block:
4-way model.
Terminals are marked: +, A, B, -
+ and – provide 12-18 Vdc power
Terminals A and B can only be used to connect the hub to the
Clavis
converter or
Vesta
board. You are strongly advised
not to connect other
types of UNA boards
(
Eva, EvaPower, MiniEva, Fluxa, Therma, Difra
, etc.)
to this input
.
We recommend a size 2x0.5 or larger twisted shielded low-capacity cable
(<100pF/m).
Optionally, we recommend a size 2x0.5 or larger twisted low-capacity
cable (<100pF/m).
Maximum distance from
Clavis
or
Vesta
is 1 km
For +, - terminals, 2x.05 cable
Ÿ
RS485 bus output terminal blocks:
4-way blocks (one independent
channel per block).
Middle terminals are marked A and B; outer terminals are not used
Terminals A and B can be used to connect the Hub to UNA boards
(
Eva, EvaPower, MiniEva, Fluxa, Therma, Difra
, etc.)
You are strongly advised
not to connect the
Clavis
converter or
Vesta
board to this input.
FIRST START-UP
Place the hub in the junction box.
Connect wires as indicated on the diagrams but with the terminal blocks
removed and not powered.
Once you have finished wiring, power the system but with the terminal
blocks still removed. Make sure that there is no voltage over 10V in the
RS485 Bus terminal block (A and B) and that there is no 18Vdc power or
ac voltage on ter/- (for RS485 Bus input terminal block only).
Voltages other than those indicated in the manual may damage the board.
If all steps were completed correctly, refit the RS485 Bus input terminal
block. When the board is powered, the red LED turns on and stays
steadily lit, at which point you can refit the remaining terminal blocks.
There is a green LED by each terminal block: when data transfer is in
progress, the LED will blink at intervals that vary depending on the amount
of information passing through.
