Downloading Photos
You can download photos from the AstraCam to your computer in two ways:
•
Press the DOWNLOAD button on the cradle to load your photos directly
into PhotoCabinet.
•
Open a photo manipulation program and connect to the AstraCam.
Prepare to Download
To prepare for downloading photos from your
AstraCam:
1. Make sure the cradle is plugged into an
electrical source and that the USB cable is
connected to the computer.
2. Slide your camera into the cradle with its
front facing the front of the cradle.
If the AstraCam is turned OFF, it will use the external power from adapter.
If the AstraCam is turned ON, it will use battery power, even if the adapter
is connected. If the AstraCam is turned ON, you do not need to have the
adapter plugged in, but the batteries will run down.
Warning
: If the AstraCam is turned ON, the battery charger is disabled.
Download Photos into PhotoCabinet
To download photos into PhotoCabinet, press the DOWNLOAD button on the
front of the cradle.
How to Acquire Photos Through PhotoCabinet and the AstraCam Driver
Acquiring photos may vary with each program used, but the basic procedure is
the same. You are activating the TWAIN interface between the program and the
AstraCam and its software.
To open PhotoCabinet and the AstraCam program:
1.
Open PhotoCabinet by clicking on the PhotoCabinet icon on your desktop.
2.
Click on the FILE MENU.
3.
Click on SELECT SOURCE. Click on UMAX ASTRACAM DIGITAL
CAMERA. Click on the SELECT button (you only need to do this step 3
once).
4.
Click on the FILE MENU and click AQUIRE. The AstraCam driver will
launch.
