6.4 Replacement of the coupling
A coupling is used at the section connecting the pump main unit and the motor. It is
recommended that this coupling be periodically inspected once a year or so. If the corner is
chipped or cracked, replace it. If the pump is started and stopped hundreds of times a day,
increase the inspection frequency.
To take out the coupling, discharge the pump oil, and remove the hex. socket set bolt (which
fixes the coupling to the motor shaft from the back of the base) and the four bolts (which fix the
pump main unit to the base). Then the coupling can be taken out to remove the bolt which fixes
the coupling by the side of casing. After inspecting the coupling, re-attachment should attach
coupling so that the plane part of a casing side rotor shaft and a stop screw with the hex. socket
set bolt, and please perform it in the way shown in Fig. 9.
Fig. 9 Replacement of the coupling
Connect the concave section (female) of the pump unit with the convex section (male) of the
motor, push the motor into the pump so that both connecting surfaces come completely into
contact with each other, and fix the motor with bolts.
