STICKY KEYS
Ordinarily, to use a
key character, you must hold down the
key while you press another key. If you have trouble pressing
two keys at one time, the sticky keys feature lets you still use the
key by pressing one key at a time.
To turn on sticky keys, pick up the handset or press the
key, and then press either
key five times. You will see STICKY
KEYS ON on the display. (During a TTY conversation, press the
key 5 times to turn on sticky keys.)
Now you can type any uppercase letter or symbol as follows:
•
press the
key and then press the
key to type !
•
press the
key and then press the
key to type $
•
press the
key and then press the
key to type %
Press either
key five more times to turn off sticky keys. The
display says STICKY KEYS OFF.
When the sticky keys feature is on, you can lock down the
key
so that it affects every key that you press. The
key stays locked
down until you unlock it again. To lock down the
key, press it
twice. To unlock the
key, press it once more.
For example, to type all uppercase letters, press the
key twice
to lock it down. Type your message. Press the
key once more
to unlock it.
