handles upwards and adjust the restraint frames (Figure 2a).
5. Attach both narrow restraint straps to the restraint frame. Centre the straps above the
chin and forehead of the patient (Figure 3).
6. Before use, ensure that all straps are fastened tightly.
4. Preparaton for reuse
• Dismantling the equipment:
Remove both restraint frames from the base plate, and the base plate from the rescue
board.
Parts can be reused after they have been appropriately cleaned. If pads and narrow fi xing
straps are very heavily contaminated with body fl uids, replace them.
• Brushing or immersing in disinfectant:
Brush all parts with a warm water and dish-washing liquid solution for 4 minutes or
immerse them in disinfectant (at 38°C with a concentration of 0.5%).
