Maintenance
DANGER
A worn or damaged blade can break. A
piece of the blade could be thrown into the
operator’s or bystander’s area, resulting in
serious personal injury or death.
•
Inspect the blade periodically for wear or
damage.
•
Replace a worn or damaged blade.
9.
Remove the four carriage bolts and locknuts
securing the cutting blade assembly (see
Figure 13) and remove it from the machine
mounting bracket.

Remove the two bolts and washers attaching
the pulley to the tapered bearing. Loosen the
setscrews on the tapered bearing and slide the key
off the shaft (see Figure 13). Remove the tapered
bearing and pulley.

Loosen the two set screws located on the flanged
bearing and slide the bearing off of the shaft.
12.
Loosen and remove the large nut and short spacer
from the shaft.
13.
Slide the spacer off of the shaft.
14.
Carefully slide the blades off of the shaft and
replace them as necessary.
15.
Reverse the procedure to install the assembly.
Note:
Rotate each blade 1/6 turn from the
previous blade.
WARNING
Incorrect installation of the blade or
components used to retain the blade can
be dangerous. Failure to use all original
components and assembled as shown could
allow a blade or blade component to be
thrown out from under the deck resulting in
serious personal injury or death.
Always install the original Z Turf Equipment
blades as shown.
16.
Return the unit to its upright position.
17.
Connect the wire to the spark plug.
Check for Loose Hardware
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
1.
Stop engine, wait for all moving parts to stop, and
remove spark plug wire. Engage parking brake.
2.
Visually inspect machine for any loose hardware
or any other possible problem. Tighten hardware
or correct the problem before operating.
Service Air Cleaner
Service Interval: Every 50 hours—Clean
the air cleaner elements;
replace if dirty. (May
need more often under
severe conditions. See
the Engine Owner's
Manual for additional
information.)
Every 200 hours—Replace
the air cleaner elements
(May need more often
under severe conditions.
See the Engine Owner's
Manual for additional
information.)
