Introduction
This introduction manual is intended for users of the TRUST NB-4100p USB2 Hard Disk Case 2.5”.
This product can be used to protect an external 2.5” hard disk used in combination with a PC or Mac
(OS X). Note: a 2.5” hard disk is not supplied with this product.
This product meets the essential requirements and other relevant conditions of the applicable
European directives. The Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is available at www.trust.com/13954/ce.
Safety
1. Do not shake this product if it contains a 2.5” hard disk. This will damage the hard disk and may
result in the loss of data. Hard disks are sensitive to shocks.
2. Do not use this product near water.
3. Do not repair the product yourself. This product may only be repaired by qualified personnel.

Using the extra power cable
Use the USB or PS/2 power cable provided if a hard disk with a capacity greater than 40 GB is used.
Connect the power cable's plug to the power connection on the external hard disk case (see below).
Power connection
Connect the USB plug or the PS/2 plug (depending on which cable you wish to use) to your computer.
Note
:
If you wish to use the PS/2 cable, turn the computer off before connecting the cable to the
computer. The PS/2 port may be damaged if the PS/2 plug is connected to the computer
whilst the computer is turned on.
Use with Mac OS X
1. Turn on your Mac and start the operating system.
2. Connect the external hard disk case to a free USB port on your Mac.
3. A removable hard disk icon will appear on the desktop after a couple of seconds.
Note
:
This external hard disk case does not work in Mac OS 9.x or earlier releases.

Our products have a two-year manufacturer's warranty which is effective from the date of purchase.

If there is a fault, return the product to your dealer and include a description of the fault, the proof of
purchase and all the accessories.

During the warranty period, you will receive a similar product, if one is available. If no similar product
is available, your product will be repaired.

other components.

The warranty becomes invalid if the product has been opened, if there is mechanical damage, if the
product has been misused, if alterations have been made to the product, if the product has been
repaired by a third party, in the case of negligence or if the product has been used for a purpose
other than that originally intended.

Damage caused by accidents or natural disasters, such as fire, flood, earthquakes, war,
vandalism or theft.

Incompatibility with hardware or software not stated in the minimum system requirements.

Sicherheitshinweise
1. Setzen Sie dieses Produkt keinen Erschütterungen aus, wenn es eine 2,5-Zoll-Festplatte enthält.
Dadurch wird die Festplatte beschädigt und Daten können verloren gehen. Festplatten sind
stoßempfindlich.
2. Benutzen Sie dieses Produkt nicht in der Nähe von Wasser.
3. Reparieren Sie das Produkt nicht selbst. Das Produkt darf nur von qualifizierten Fachkräften
repariert werden.

Verwendung des zusätzlichen Stromkabels
Verwenden Sie bei einer Festplatte mit einer Kapazität von mehr als 40 GB das mitgelieferte USB-
oder PS/2-Stromkabel. Schließen Sie den Stecker des Stromkabels an den Stromanschluss Ihres
externen Festplattengehäuses (siehe unten) an.
Stromanschluss
Schließen Sie das USB- oder PS/2-Kabel an Ihren Computer an (abhängig davon, welches Kabel Sie
verwenden möchten).
Hinweis
: Wenn Sie PS/2 verwenden möchten, schalten Sie Ihren Computer vor dem Anschließen
aus. Wenn Sie das PS/2-Kabel an Ihren Computer anschließen, während er an ist, kann Ihr
PS/2-Port beschädigt werden!
Verwendung unter Mac OS X
1. Schalten Sie Ihren Mac ein und starten Sie das Betriebssystem.
2. Schließen Sie das externe Festplattengehäuse an den USB-Port Ihres Mac an.
3. Nach einigen Sekunden wird auf dem Desktop das Symbol einer (auswechselbaren) Festplatte
angezeigt.
Hinweis
: Dieses externe Festplattengehäuse funktioniert nicht unter Mac OS 9.x oder niedriger!
