4.3 Camera
functions
See figure 4 and the table below for a description of the various camera functions.

Description
A
Flash button
Use this button to set the flash. Also see the status
display (P) on the LCD screen (J). You can choose
from 3 options:
:
Auto Flash:
the camera determines whether
the flash must be used.
:
No Flash:
the flash is turned off.
:
Force Flash:
the flash is always used when
taking photographs.
Note:
the default setting is ‘No Flash’.

Self-timer button
:
Self-timer:
Use this button to turn on the self-
timer function. A photograph is taken 10 seconds
after the exposure button (E) is pressed. You can
use this function to take a picture of yourself.

Photo quality
button
Use this button to select the resolution used when
taking photographs. You can choose from the
following options:
: Takes photographs with a resolution of 1280 x
960 (1.2 Mpixels). You can take approximately 43
photographs when using the 16 MB internal
memory.
: Takes photographs with a resolution of 1600
x 1200 (2 Mpixels). You can take approximately 25
photographs when using the 16 MB internal
memory.
: Takes photographs with a resolution of 2048
x 1536 (3 Mpixels). You can take approximately 17
photographs when using the 16 MB internal
memory.
: Takes photographs with a resolution of
2304 x 1728 (4 Mpixels). You can take
approximately 8 photographs when using the 16 MB
internal memory.
D
On/Off button
Press this button for 1 second to turn the camera on
or off. Two beeps will be heard.
Note:
The camera will turn off automatically if it is
not used for approximately 2 minutes.
E
Exposure button
Press this button to take photographs or to
start/stop recording a short video clip.
F
Viewfinder
Use this to view the subject.
