Turn on the machine, then select the type of rim in response to the appropriate program. For
balancing a wheel with clip-on weights on the two rim edges, is possible to balance with the
standard dynamic function. In different situations for aluminum rims, you must select the
right ALU mode by selecting the ALU button (see key explanation chapter 3 page 38 and see
chapter 6 additional explanation page 42).

Determine the a, d and b values:

Move the meter to touch the edge of the rim. Read the distance value, press a + and a- to
change settings to set the ‘a’ value.

Use the supplied width meter to read the rim width press b+ and b- to change the settings,
set the ‘b’ value. Image:

Read the value of the diameter (marked on the wheel), adjust the ‘d’ value.

Close the safety guard to start a measurement cycle.

Wheel rotates within a few seconds on the working speed and start the measurement of the
imbalance. The imbalance values remain on the displays 1 and 3 (see chapter 4 page 28)
when the wheel stops spinning.

Turn the wheel anticlockwise slowly and the indicators 2 and 4 will illuminate. Once an
indicator is fully illuminated, lead can be placed on the rim alongside the illuminated
indicator, in this case indicator 4 (outside of the rim). The lead should be posted on the
outside of the rim at 12 o’clock on the upper side the rim. See figure 1:
