Connecting Components

Adding a SCSI hard disk drive

RAID configuration

When using a RAID configuration in the Toshiba M500D server,
follow the procedures shown in “SCSI configuration” on page 45.

Installing the RAID card

To install a RAID card, see “Installing expansion cards” on
page 59.

Setting up the RAID card

Refer to the user’s guide that came with the RAID card.

Starting the SCSI utility

When you start or reboot the server, the initialization screen of the
built-in SCSI BIOS appears.

SCSI BIOS initialization screen

When the settings are correct, the names and SCSI IDs of the
SCSI devices connected to the built-in SCSI controller appear.

To start the utility, simultaneously press
