also shows warning messages and prompts you to confirm write-
access to the HDD. After each is run, the results in hexadecimal
will appear on the screen.
Option: 01. Sequential address read
This subtest is a sequential reading of all the blocks on the HDD
starting at block 0. When all the blocks on the HDD have been
read, the test starts at the highest numbered track and reads the
blocks on the HDD sequentially back to block 0. Each access will
proceed with every logical sector as one block.
Option: 02. Connection
This subtest reads the logical sector at the end of the HDD and
then recognizes whether the drive is connected or not.
NPX Test
To execute the NPX (Numerical Processor eXtension) Test, select
7 from the DIAGNOSTICS TEST MENU, press
Enter , and
follow the directions on the screen. The NPX test contains one
subtest that tests the computer’s floating point data processing unit
functions.
Option: 01.NPX test
This test checks the Addition and Multiplication functions of the
math coprocessor.
Cache Memory Test
To execute the Cache Memory Test, select 8 from the
DIAGNOSTICS TEST MENU. Press
Enter
and follow the
directions displayed on the screen. The cache memory test
contains four subtests which check the L2 Caching unit.
