4.23  Touch pad/Fingerprint sensor board 

4 Replacement Procedures 

Installing the Touch pad/Fingerprint sensor board 

To install the touch pad/fingerprint sensor board, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 
4-34 and 4-35. 

1.

 

Wipe off the double-sided tapes on the cover assembly and TP BTN cover and stick a 
new double-sided tape on them. 

2.

 

Stick the 

fingerprint sensor board

 and 

aluminum tape

 (AL TAPE TPAD) in place. 

3.

 

Pass the tip point of the 

membrane switch

 (connector terminal side) through the hole 

and stick the FPC in place. 

4.

 

Stick the 

TP BTN cover

 in place and engage the 

latches

. 

5.

 

Stick the 

touch pad 

in place. 

6.

 

Turn over the cover assembly and connect the 

membrane switch FPC

 to the 

connector on the touch pad. 

7.

 

Connect the 

fingerprint sensor board FFC 

to the connector 

CN9810 

on the 

fingerprint sensor board. 

CAUTION:  Do not reuse the removed touch pad, membrane switch, TP BTN cover and 

fingerprint sensor board.  
When removing (peeling) the touch pad, membrane switch, TP BTN cover 
and fingerprint sensor board, wipe off the double-sided tape on the cover 
assembly and touch pad button. Stick new double-sided tapes on the cover 
assembly and touch pad button.  

   

 

A new double-sided tape is stuck to a new COVER ASSY and TP BTN cover 

for adhering a touch pad, membrane switch and fingerprint sensor board. 

   

 

The double-side tapes on the COVER ASSY are shown in the figure below.
