Learning the Basics

Using Hibernation

Going into Hibernation mode

To power down the computer using the Hibernation 
command:

Click 

Start

, 

Turn off computer

.

The Turn off computer window appears.

Hold down the shift key and click 

Hibernate 

(“Hibernate” only appears when the shift key is pressed).

 

The computer saves the state of the system, including all 
open programs and files, to the hard disk, and then powers 
down completely. 

Going into Hibernation mode more quickly

You can also put the computer into Hibernation mode in three 
ways:

❖

By pressing the hotkey combination of Fn+F4.

❖

By pressing the power button

❖

By closing the display panel. 

To put the computer into Hibernation mode when you press 
the power button or close the display panel, you must preset 
the mode:
