12.3 Drive Circuit of Toner Motor
The toner motor (brush motor) is a motor to supply toner from the toner cartridge to the developer unit.
The toner motor is driven by the transistor TA8428 (LGC board: IC51).
Circuit diagram of the toner motor
Motor driver TA8428 (IC51) is connected with both ends of the motor wire.
— When the PC6 (TNRM1-1) of the ASIC GA becomes “H” and PC7 (TNRM2-1) becomes “L” levels,
current flows into the motor wire and the motor is rotated.
— When both of PC6 (TNRM1-1) and PC7 (TNRM2-1) of the ASIC GA become “H” level, the motor is
braked and stopped.
— When both of PC6 (TNRM1-1) and PC7 (TNRM2-1) of ASIC GA become “L” level, the motor waits
for the next command (the motor is stopped).
