This unit has four input terminals, AV1, AV2 or AV3 on
the rear panel and AV4 on the front panel. Be sure that
all the units are off before making connections.
■
Recording from a DVD player, VCR or other
Audio-Video equipment with a Scart output
jack (AV2)
Note
• If the external equipment connected to the AV2 jack
supplies control voltage to this unit via Pin 8 of the Scart
cable, the display functions (e.g. P01) of the remote
control cannot be seen on the TV connected to the AV1.
In this case, turn off the external equipment to prevent
control voltage.
■
Recording from a camcorder or other Audio-
Video equipment with no Scart output jack
(AV3 or AV4)
Change the setup. (See page 55.)
If no S-Video input jack is available, connect to VIDEO
input jack on the front panel using an RCA Video cable.

connect the COMPONENT VIDEO OUTPUT jacks), and
an Audio Cable (to connect the ANALOG AUDIO OUT
jacks).
- S-Video connection provides the good quality picture.
- Component connection provides the better quality picture.
1) Follow steps 1 and 2 on page 24.
2) Connect S-VIDEO OUT or COMPONENT VIDEO
OUTPUT jacks of this unit to the S-Video or
Component Video input jacks of your TV. Use a
commercially available S-Video cable or
Component Video cable.
3) Connect the ANALOG AUDIO OUT jacks of this
unit to the analogue Audio input jacks of your
TV. Use a commercially available Audio cable.
Note for a TV with no S-Video input jack or Scart socket:
