Guidelines

Guideline 1: When choosing from the FX module built in switching hubs/hubs and the external FX-TX

conversion module, we recommend the external FX-TX conversion module due to the

following reasons.

(1) It reduces the setting operation for switching hubs (prevents misuse).

(2) It is easy to replace (stocked products don’t have FX modules).

(3) It is inexpensive.

* Internal modules are used when there is no room for installation in the cabinet.

Guideline 2: When choosing from switching hubs and hubs, consider the following.

(1) The expansion distances for optical fiber are different when an optical fiber is connected

via the FX-TX conversion module.

[TX-SHUB] - [FX-TX] == Optical Fiber 2km == [FX-TX] - [TX-SHUB]

[TX-SHUB] - [FX-TX] == Optical Fiber 150m == [FX-TX] - [TX-HUB]

(2) Switching hubs sends data without collisions when several stations send data

simultaneously, while hubs sends data only to one of the connected stations.  This

improves the network efficiency.  You may use switching hubs only, but the minimum

number of switching hubs are used because it is expensive.  If a station with a high

network load is directly connected to a switching hub, the network efficiency increases.

Since SVR-DS has a relatively high network load, it is your advantage to connect it

directly to a switching hub.  (However, it is not mandatory.)
