Connecting a digital audio system

To connect an HDMI

device, you will need one HDMI

cable
(type A connector) per HDMI

“Overview of cable
types” on page 23

may not operate properly.

For proper operation, it is recommended that you use an HDMI
TM
cable with the HDMI
TM
Logo (
).
Before controlling the device(s):

After completing the above connections, conigure the HDMI
TM
CEC Setup menu with the desired settings, see
“Setting up
HDMITM CEC” on page 101

The connected devices must also be conigured. For details, see
the operation manual for each device.

This feature uses the CEC technology as regulated by the
HDMI
TM
standard.

This feature is limited to models incorporating Toshiba’s
HDMI
TM
CEC. However, Toshiba is not liable for those
operations. Refer to the individual instruction manuals for
compatibility information.
This feature may not work properly depending on the devices that are
connected.
Connecting a digital audio system
The TV’s DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminal outputs a Dolby
®
Digital or 2-channel down-mixed PCM (pulse-code modulation)
signal for use with an external Dolby
®
Digital decoder or other
external audio system with optical audio input.
