Replacing the Trip Edges
Service Interval:
Every 50 hours—Check the trip
edges.
Replace the trip edges when they are worn.
Note:
Operating conditions affects trip-edge wear.
Operating the snowthrower on dry pavement will
cause the trip edges to wear faster than operating it
on wet snow.
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the PTO, and engage the parking brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Remove the bolts and retainer plate.

Checking the
Auger-Gearbox-Oil Level
Service Interval:

1.
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the PTO, and engage the parking brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Clean the area around the pipe plug and remove
the pipe plug from the gearbox.
Note:
If needed, use pliers to assist in removing
the pipe plug.

Check the oil level using a suitable measuring
device, such as a clean cable tie. The oil should
be approximately 3.8 cm (1.5 inches) below the
filler opening
