Open the drain plug and operate the pump to drain off
contaminates (

Close the drain plug.
Replacing the Fuel Filter Element
1.
Place a clean container under the water separator.
2.
Drain some fuel by loosening the vent plug and
opening the drain plug (
).
3.
Disconnect the water sensor (electrical connector)
from the bottom of the water separator
4.
Clean the area where the filter element mounts to the
head.
5.
Remove the filter element and bowl. Remove the
element from the bowl and clean the mounting surface.
6.
Clean the O-ring gland on the bowl.
7.
Apply a coating of clean fuel or motor oil to the new
O-ring and element seal.
8.
Spin the bowl onto the new element and then spin
them both onto the filter head by hand only.
Do not
use tools.
9.
Close the drain plug.
10.
Connect the water sensor (electrical connector) from
the bottom of the water separator.
11.
With the vent plug still loosened, operate the primer
pump until fuel purges at the vent plug. Close the vent
plug, start the engine and check for leaks. Correct as
necessary with the engine off.
Replacing the Fuel Filter
Service Interval:
Every 500 hours—Replace the fuel filter
element
1.
Clean the area around the fuel filter head (

Remove the filter and clean the filter head mounting
surface (
).
3.
Lubricate the filter gasket with clean lubricating engine
oil. Refer to the Engine Operator's Manual, included
with the machine, for additional information.
4.
Install the dry filter canister, by hand, until the gasket
contacts the filter head, then rotate it an additional
1/2 turn.
5.
Loosen the banjo fitting on the fuel filter housing
(
).
