Draining the Fuel Tank
Service Interval:
Every 800 hours Drain and clean
the fuel tank if the fuel system
becomes contaminated.
Before storage Drain and clean the fuel tank if
you store the machine for an extended period.
Fuel-tank capacity:
53 L (14 US gallons)
1.
Prepare the machine for maintenance; refer to
Preparing for Maintenance (page 43)
.
2.
Align a drain pan under the fuel tank-drain valve
(
).

Open the drain valve and allow the fuel to drain
from the tank.
4.
Use clean fuel to flush out the tank.
5.
Close the drain valve.
Cleaning the Fuel-Pickup
Tube Screen
Removing the Fuel-Pickup Tube
The fuel-pickup tube, located inside the fuel tank,
comes with a screen to help prevent debris from
entering the fuel system. Remove the fuel-pickup tube
and clean the screen as required.

Prepare the machine for maintenance; refer to
Preparing for Maintenance (page 43)
.
2.
Remove the 5 Phillips-head screws that secure
the fuel-sender cover to the fuel tank, and
remove the cover (
).

Remove the 2-socket connector of the
fuel-sender harness from the 2-pin connector of
the machine wire harness (

fittings of the fuel sender inboard, and remove
