Without moving the position of the front foot, pivot the instrument so the rotary head is now
facing wall B.

Mark where the split beam emitted from the
top of the rotary head strikes wall B (Hb).
Measure the distance (dHb) between marks
Mb and Hb.

Compare the two measurements dHa and
dHb. If the difference between the two
measurements is less than 3 mm (1/8 of an
inch), no adjustment is necessary. Otherwise,
adjust as follows.
