f) Volume Measurement
The laser distance meter can determine the
volume of a space.
Observe that the area to be measured is
rectangular, since volume is calculated
by multiplying the three distances „a“, „b“
and „c“.
The measurements therefore must be made
at right angles to each other.
Proceed as follows:
1. Keep the middle function button „ “ (C) pushed until a cube appears at the top of the display
(volume measurement). Release the button again.
2. Push the measuring button „
“ (B) briefly to measure the first side length (a). The measured
value is shown in the middle line (3). Then the right lower dash of the cube flashes in the
display.
3. Push the measuring button „
“ (B) briefly to measure the second side length (b). The
measured value is shown in the middle line (3). Then the middle dash of the cube flashes in
the display.
4. Push the measuring button „
“ (B) briefly to measure the third side length (c).
After the measurement, the middle line (3) shows the measured value of the third side length,
and the calculated area in m³ appears in the lower display line (4) (the complete cube now
flashes at the top of the display).
5. If another volume measurement is to be performed, briefly push the measuring button
„
“ (B). The data are deleted from the display. Now continue with step 2.
Pushing the power button „
“ (D) several times will take you back to the previous
step or leave volume measurement.
