b) Laser
• Use the laser installed in the product only to measure distances, areas and volumes.
Any other use is not admissible.
• This product is equipped with a class 2 laser. The scope of delivery includes laser
warning signs in different languages. If the notice sign on the laser distance meter
is not in your local language, attach the corresponding sign to the bottom of the
product.
• When operating the product, always observe that the laser beam is guided so
that no persons are present in the projection area and that inadvertently reflected
beams (e.g. by reflecting surfaces/objects) cannot reach the area where persons
are present.
• Laser radiation may be dangerous if the laser beam or a reflection enters the
unprotected eye. Therefore, familiarise yourself with the statutory regulations and
measures of precaution for the operation of this kind of laser device in your country
before taken the product and the laser into operation.
• Never look into the laser beam and never point it at people or animals. Laser radiation
can seriously damage your eyes.
• Never point the laser beam at any mirrors or other reflection surfaces. The uncon
-
trolledly reflected beam may hit persons or animals.
• If a laser beam hits the eye, close your eyes deliberately and move your head from
the beam at once.
• If your eyes have been irritated by the laser radiation, do not perform any safety-
relevant work anymore, such as work with machines, at heights or near parts subject
to high voltages. Do not operate any vehicles anymore until the irritation of the eye
has subsided.
