7. Operation
a) Mains connection
The mains cable is very short so it cannot be accidentally damaged by the blade (8) during use. Therefore,
a sufficiently long extension cable is required for operation. If the extension cable is damaged during use,
this is easier to replace than the hedge trimmer’s power cable.
• Make a loop with the extension cable and slide this into the U-shaped opening on the handle from below.
• Insert the strap of the extension cable into the opening as shown in the image and pull it back slightly to secure it.
• Connect the hedge trimmer’s mains plug to the socket on the extension cable.
• Plug the extension cable mains plug into a mains socket.
b) Operation
Always observe all the following safety information in these operating instructions.
Before use, check the hedge trimmer for loose connection screws, firmly fixed adjustment devices and an
intact blade.
Always hold the hedge trimmer with both hands on the handle (2) and on the bow handle with safety switch
(6).
Caution - the blade (8) continues to run for a short time after the trimmer has been turned off.
• Remove the blade guard (9) from the blade (8).
• The handle can be rotated 180° for easier handling. Press the locking device (5) and rotate the handle into a posi-
tion that is comfortable for you. The handle engages in the 45° steps.
• Press the safety switch on the bow handle (6) and switch on the hedge trimmer with the on/off switch (3).
• Allow the hedge trimmer to get up to speed before starting your work and do not apply a load to the trimmer as
soon as it is switched on.
• Start working near the mains socket and then move away from it. This reduces the risk of the extension cable get-
ting into the working area and being damaged.
• Do not overload the hedge trimmer by cutting branches that are too big or by cutting too many branches at the same
time. This also protects the tool and prevents an overload.
• Move the hedge trimmer evenly in arching movements in front of your body over the area to be cut.
• Hold the hedge trimmer so that the blade is at an angle of approx. 15° to the cutting surface.
