Intended Use
Ability Drive
TM
is intended to be used with a power wheelchair as a control
device for people who can not use a joystick. This device is intended primarily
to provide a way for people who have movement challenges due to injury,
disability or illness to control their power wheelchair.
Ability Drive
TM
meets the definition for medical equipment; and is registered
as a Class 1 medical device with the US FDA and a Class 1 medical device
with Health Canada. Ability Drive
TM
does not sustain or support life. In
case of device failure, user must ensure there is an alternative method
of controlling the power wheelchair available as a back-up, such as an
attendant control.
